COGNITIVE FITNESS PROGRAM
Enhance your cognitive abilities with research-based activities and practical strategies that promote brain health at Northwestern University's Speech, Language, and Learning Clinic.
Research shows that cognitive stimulation strengthens brain wellness, and may even offer some protection against degenerative processes such as Alzheimer's disease.
Northwestern University's six-week Cognitive Fitness Program is designed for adults seeking to maintain and fortify their current abilities as well as those seeking to rebuild skills and develop compensatory strategies. (The program is appropriate for individuals experiencing mild memory or cognitive difficulties although is not suitable for individuals who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.)
Held on the university's Evanston campus, sessions are directed by clinical faculty members who are speech-language pathologists experienced with the complex connections between the adult brain and memory, language ability and other cognitive functions.
Offered three times during the year, each session is limited to 10 members to ensure personalized attention in a comfortable group setting.
Sessions are held on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and cost $220/participant.
